Stephany is the first person in her family to attend college and earn postgraduate degrees. She attended Sacramento State, where she earned a degree in Political Science with honors. She later attended Cal Northern School of Law, where she simultaneously earned a Master’s Degree in Legal Studies and a Juris Doctor. She is fluent in Spanish.
Prior to joining the Walsh Law team, Stephany worked as a Deputy Public Defender at both the Yuba County Public Defender’s Office and the Placer County Public Defender’s Office. She gained tremendous experience starting with misdemeanor cases and regularly handled a busy caseload of DUI matters. She worked her way up to a felony caseload, including strike offenses. At the Placer County Public Defender’s Office, she was assigned to the Domestic Violence Unit.
Stephany’s experience representing a high volume of clients across a variety of assignments brings exceptional value to the team. As a former Deputy Public Defender, she learned to treat every client with compassion while ensuring their constitutional rights are protected. Her career reflects a strong commitment to representing those who do not have a voice.
