Attorney Chris Walsh recently assisted a Sacramento County man who made a potentially life-changing mistake while trying to catch an early morning flight. The man had no prior criminal record, but when he forgot he had a firearm in his travel bag, he was arrested at the airport and charged with multiple significant felonies. Being convicted would carry a lengthy jail sentence and hefty fines.
The client knew that acting fast and explaining the mistake was key and called Walsh Law right away. Attorney Walsh showed that the incident wasn’t intentional and succeeded in getting the charges reduced to the misdemeanor level, as well as entering the client to a diversion program where he will complete a gun safety course and have the charge dismissed upon completion. Thanks to Attorney Walsh’s help, the client was spared jail time, significant fines, and the stigma of a felony conviction on his record.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
